Do I need any prior experience to join this course?
No. This course is built for complete beginners and starts from hygiene, tools and skin knowledge before moving to technique. Around half our students have never held a professional brush before joining.
How long is the Comprehensive Makeup & Hair Course?
It runs for 60 days at our Jagatpura studio in Jaipur. That length is deliberate — it is what allows 50+ hairstyles and every makeup look to be practised by hand rather than only demonstrated.
Will I get a certificate, and is it recognised?
Yes. You receive a Chhaya Shankar Makeup Academy certificate on completion. In the beauty industry, hiring is driven primarily by your portfolio and trial work, which is why the course ends with a professional portfolio shoot rather than an exam.
Do I need to buy my own makeup kit?
Not to begin with. You practise with studio products while you learn, and we cover kit-building as a module so you buy the right products for the clients you actually want, instead of an expensive kit you outgrow.
Will I practise on real models?
Yes. Hands-on practice on live models is the core of the course. Working on different skin types, undertones and face shapes is the only way to be ready for real clients.
What can I earn after completing this course?
Earnings depend on your city, portfolio and how you market yourself. In Jaipur, freelance party makeup typically starts in the ₹1,500–3,000 range per client, with bridal assignments considerably higher. We cover pricing and client acquisition in career counselling.
